I live in the U.S. and I have a ecommerce website. Currently I am doing drop-shipping for a Chinese company. (my supplier ships the item directly to my customer). I am charging my customers through Google Checkout? Once the funds are in my bank I will pay my supplier via Western Union. I send about 30,000 to China monthly at least. What are the taxes am I responsible for?

When drop shipping from a distributor do I apply max tax or only from the zipcode the distributor ships from?

drop shipping
notyoume asked:

Basically I don’t want to over or under charge on taxes. The states my distributor has warehouse in are as follows…CA, KS, NJ, GA, FL, IL, and TX. The max taxes are in order as follows 8.75, 8.3, 7, 7, 9.5, 8.5, and 8.25 but can vary by county and city by as much as 2-3%

I have applied for sales and use certificates from these states but they are really unclear as to what I charge as i am not physically located in the said state, I am drop shipping!

Anyone got any experience that can help me out Thanks!
